The Blind Burro - San Diego Restaurant Week

Restaurant Week in San Diego is the coolest. Almost two hundred restaurants participated this year in the week-long event, creating special menus for lunch and dinner with fixed prices. Ranging from $10 to $50, you're able to check out awesome restaurants throughout the county without breaking the bank.

Mr. San Diego and I chose to go to The Blind Burro in East Village (Downtown) for their $20 Restaurant Week Dinner! With three appetizers, six taco entrees, and dessert churros to choose from, we were excited to try out this casual-but-hip Mexican eatery.

For the appetizers, we got the Guacamole Tradicional and Baja Ceviche. Mr. San Diego was IN LOVE with the ceviche. He wants to go back again just for that! Unfortunately, I am allergic to both avocado and seafood, and my tragic existence prevented me from partaking in the enjoyment.

For the entrees, I went with the chicken Tinga Tacos and Mr. San Diego got the Al Pastor Tacos. They were GOOD! What impressed me the most was actually the tortillas. I forgot to ask if they make them in-house, but these tortillas were so soft and didn't break or crumble. We got the street corn on the cob for our sides and it was delicious too!

Last but not least, we got our churros and they were SO SOFT and warm and delightful!

Overall, we were really impressed with The Blind Burro! It is right around the corner from Petco Park and I can definitely see this being a place that we visit before an evening game. It is a large corner location with a good amount of seating inside and is lined with small tables outside, which I would assume would be great for people watching. We had great service and look forward to going back again!
